LIMITED WARRANTY & CASING / RETREAD POLICY

United States & Canada

01. Introduction

This booklet outlines APLUS' Limited Warranty and Casing/Retread Policy for steel radial truck and bus tires (TBR) sold in the United States and Canada.

It defines warranty coverage, exclusions, owner obligations, and casing credit values.

Applies only to new APLUS TBR tires sold through authorized channels and used in normal commercial service.

02. Warranty Coverage –
Materials & Workmanship

This booklet outlines APLUS' Limited Warranty and Casing/Retread Policy for steel radial truck and bus tires (TBR) sold in the United States and Canada.

It defines warranty coverage, exclusions, owner obligations, and casing credit values.

Applies only to new APLUS TBR tires sold through authorized channels and used in normal commercial service.

2.1 Warranty Term

Coverage period: 5 years from the tire's original date of manufacture (DOT).
Applies to defects in materials or workmanship only.

2.2 Free Replacement – Early Life

Eligibility: Tire removed due to warrantable defect before more than 2/32" of tread wear has occurred.

2.3 Pro-Rata Adjustment – After 2/32" Wear

For warrantable defects after 2/32" of tread wear and before 5 years:
Pro-Rata Formula
Remaining Usable Tread ÷ Original Usable Tread × Adjustment Price
Adjustment price = original purchase price OR dealer current selling price (whichever is lower)
Tires worn to 2/32" or less are not adjustable.

2.4 No Mileage Warranty

APLUS does not guarantee tire mileage or tread life.

03. Casing Warranty &
Retread Policy

3.1 Warranty Term

Casings warranted for 5 years from date of manufacture.

3.2 Eligible Casing Conditions

A casing qualifies when:
· Removed with less than 4/32" remaining tread
· Failed due to material/workmanship defect
· Used in normal over-the-road service

3.3 Retread Capability

Each APLUS casing is designed to be retreaded up to 3 times, subject to inspection.

04. Warranty Eligibility
Requirements

4.1 Original Purchaser & Vehicle

Warranty applies only to the original owner.
Valid only for the vehicle on which the tire was first installed.
Not transferable.

4.2 Valid Territory

Tires must be purchased and operated in the U.S. or Canada.

4.3 Proper Application

Tires must match:
Intended service category.
Load index & speed rating.
Correct vehicle axle positions.

4.4 Maintenance Requirements

Owner must ensure:
Proper inflation pressure.
Proper load (no overload).
Correct alignment & mechanical condition.
Regular inspections & rotations.
Failure to maintain will void warranty.

05. What is Not Covered

This section expands APLUS's original exclusions to match industry-standard detail.

5.1 Road Hazard Damage
5.2 Improper Use or Maintenance

Includes but not limited to: Punctures, cuts, snags. Impact breaks, bulges. Stone drilling, tread chunking.

Under/over-inflation. Overloading. Improper mounting/demounting. Wrong rim size. Improper repairs/regrooving. Running flat or severely under-inflated.

5.3 Vehicle-Related Factors
5.4 Abuse or Negligence

Misalignment. Faulty suspension, steering, or braking. Accident damage. Irregular wear caused by mechanical defects.

Racing, spinning, drifting. Chemical contamination. Fire, vandalism, theft. Improper storage.

5.5 Age & Weathering
5.6 Tread Wearout

Ozone/weather cracking after 3 years. Cosmetic issues not affecting performance.

Tires worn to 2/32" or less. No mileage guarantee.

5.7 Identification Issues
5.8 Territory Exclusion

DOT number removed/obscured. Tires marked Blemish or No Adjustment.

Tires purchased or operated outside U.S. & Canada.

5.9 Retread-Specific Exclusions

Casings retreaded improperly.
Casings older than 5 years.
Casings retreaded more than 3 times.

06. Owner Responsibilities &
Claim Procedure

6.1 Owner Responsibilities

To receive warranty service, the owner must: Present tire/casing to an authorized APLUS dealer. Provide proof of purchase. Ensure proper mounting, maintenance, and usage. Complete the APLUS Warranty Claim Form.

6.2 Dealer Responsibilities

Authorized dealers must: Inspect tire and record DOT, size, tread depth. Assist in completing the claim form. Submit tire/casing to APLUS when required.

6.3 Inspection & Disposition

Tires remain owner property until claim approval. Adjusted tires may not be returned to the owner afterward. APLUS makes final eligibility determination.

07. Limitations & Legal Rights

7.1 Exclusive Warranty

This booklet contains the only warranty APLUS provides for TBR tires. Dealers cannot modify warranty terms.

7.2 Disclaimer of Implied Warranties

All implied warranties—including merchantability and fitness for purpose—are disclaimed to the maximum extent permitted by law. Where not permitted, such warranties are limited to 5 years.

7.3 Limitation of Remedies

APLUS is not liable for: Downtime. Loss of profits. Towing. Vehicle damage. Any indirect or consequential loss.

7.4 Other Legal Rights

Owners may have additional rights under state or provincial law.

08. Policy Revision Clause

APLUS may update this Policy at any time.
Updates do not affect tires sold prior to the revision's effective date.
